Seeking an assistant teacher for our toddler program

About the position

NOPA Montessori is seeking to hire full-time, committed and passionate educators to join our founding team. The assistant teacher will work in collaboration with the Lead Guide to prepare and maintain the classroom environment, including cleaning, arranging and stocking classroom materials. The assistant teacher is a crucial part of fostering a loving, supportive, and calm community. Our staff is committed to children’s success, safety, and development as independent, joyous learners. Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise children between the ages of 18 months-2.5 years old (Toddler) OR 2.5 and 6 years old (Primary) inside the classroom and during park outings

  • Keep the environment in order: clean, supplied and in good repair

  • Collaborate and communicate with classroom staff and administration

  • Support the Lead Guide by observing children and keeping records of their progress

  • Be available for full time work Monday through Friday

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 12 ECE Credits (Minimum of 6 units completed and enrolled in 6 additional units)

  • Love of children and families

  • Must have oral and written proficiency in the English language

  • Must complete post-offer, pre-employment physical, provide proof of required vaccinations and TB test

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds

  • Criminal and Background Clearance

  • CPR/First Aid Certification (or be willing to acquire)

  • Authorized to work in the US (We cannot sponsor visa’s at this time)

Compensation

The salary for the position is 45K/year, full coverage of premium for medical, dental and vision, paid national holidays and about 4.5 weeks of paid school holidays (throughout the year), PTO accrual, personal/sick day accrual, professional development opportunities, and tuition discounts.
